Educational and career journey

I am a passionate educator with 20+ years of experience in education, 12+ years of experience in UAE schools, and 10+ years of experience in educational leadership. Currently, I am the Executive Principal of Apple International school, a UK curriculum school with 5600+ students and 460+ staff, functioning on two campuses, Rated as ‘Good’ with very good features and Outstanding areas, and striving towards excellence.

I hold a PhD and a Master’s degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Education. My core skills are in Education Administration, Teachers/leaders’ mentoring and development, Curriculum planning and improvement, Lesson evaluation, Effective use of Assessment data to inform curriculum, teaching& learning, and training new staff. I lead and am passionate about the Data-driven approach to teaching &learning, curriculum enrichment, assessments, and student achievement.

Throughout my experience in education, I have developed a comprehensive skill set that aligns well with the responsibilities of a School Leader.

I am currently working as Executive Principal at Apple International School, Dubai, and I have made significant contributions in the field of Education. I began my career in Dubai, UAE as a classroom teacher and have since progressively advanced through various leadership roles, including Head of Subject, Head of Section, Head of School, Vice Principal, and currently, the Executive Principal. Throughout this period, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, staff development, and fostering a nurturing learning environment for students.

My contributions include implementing innovative educational strategies, enhancing school performance, mentoring educators, and contributing to the broader educational community. These achievements reflect my dedication to my vision of providing world-class education and developing future generations.

PAIU's contribution to my personal or professional development.

My studies at PAIU made a significant contribution to my research in the field of personalised learning by deepening my understanding of the role of effective assessment in improving student outcomes. Through evidence-based research, academic guidance, and innovative assessment practices, PAIU supported me in exploring how meaningful feedback, learner profiling, data-informed teaching, and personalised interventions can enhance every student’s learning journey.

The knowledge and insights gained during my studies enabled me to successfully complete and submit my PhD thesis. Building on this research, I later published a book on personalised assessment for personalised learning, offering practical strategies and research-based insights for educators across the UAE. The publication serves as a valuable resource for schools seeking to strengthen personalised learning, foster student agency, and improve teaching and learning through purposeful assessment practices.

My learning journey at PAIU laid the foundation for an ongoing programme of research into personalised assessment, innovative pedagogical strategies, and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in creating more adaptive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environments. This research continues to evolve, contributing to educational innovation and supporting schools in preparing learners with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the future.
