Educational and career journey

I am an accomplished educational leader with 30 years of international experience in teaching, school leadership, curriculum development, and educational management. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from Paris American International University; a Master’s Degree in Management; a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature; and internationally recognised leadership qualifications, including studies at Harvard Business School and the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL).

Currently serving as the Founding Principal of Young Achievers International School in Qatar, I am passionate about building innovative learning communities where academic excellence, character development, and global citizenship go hand in hand. My vision is to empower every child to become a confident learner, compassionate leader, and responsible global citizen.

For me, education isn’t just a career; it’s a lifelong commitment to inspiring minds, supporting educators, and understanding the principles behind effective leadership and creating opportunities for future generations.

With nearly three decades of experience in education, I reached a point in my professional journey where I wanted to explore education beyond practice. This desire for growth led me to pursue my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education at Paris American International University.

My doctoral journey became a defining milestone, transforming the way I viewed leadership, learning, and educational change.

Before beginning my PhD, I had developed extensive experience as an educator and school leader. However, the program challenged me to expand my perspective and move from managing educational environments to strategically transforming them. It encouraged me to become a reflective practitioner—someone who combines professional experience with research, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making.

Throughout my studies, I developed a deeper understanding of educational leadership, organisational effectiveness, strategic planning, and the importance of creating systems that support continuous improvement. The research process strengthened my analytical skills and taught me the importance of asking meaningful questions, examining challenges from multiple perspectives, and designing solutions that create long-term impact.

One of the greatest strengths of my PhD experience was the connection between theory and practice. The knowledge I gained was not limited to academic discussions; it became a foundation for my leadership philosophy. It influenced the way I approach school development, teacher empowerment, curriculum innovation, quality assurance, and building a strong culture of excellence.

The greatest reflection of this journey is the establishment of Young Achievers International School in Qatar, where I currently serve as Founding Principal.

Creating a new international school has been one of the most meaningful challenges of my career. It requires vision, strategic thinking, strong organisational foundations, and the ability to translate educational philosophy into everyday practice. The leadership skills, research mindset, and confidence developed during my doctoral studies have played a significant role in shaping this vision.

At Young Achievers International School, my goal is to create a learning community where students are encouraged to achieve their highest potential, teachers are empowered to grow professionally, and families become active partners in education. The school reflects my belief that modern education must combine academic excellence with character development, innovation, creativity, and global citizenship.

My PhD journey also changed the way I view leadership. I learned that effective educational leaders are not only decision-makers; they are vision-builders, mentors, researchers, and lifelong learners. They create environments where people feel valued, inspired, and motivated to achieve excellence.

Looking back, completing my PhD was not only a personal academic achievement—it was a transformational experience that shaped the leader I am today. It gave me the tools to think strategically, the confidence to embrace challenges, and the knowledge to contribute more meaningfully to the educational sector.

I am deeply grateful to Paris American International University for providing a learning environment that supported my academic growth and encouraged me to pursue excellence. The university became an important part of my professional journey and helped me transform years of experience into a stronger vision for educational leadership.

My message to future doctoral students is this:

Never stop learning, regardless of your level of experience. Education is a journey without an endpoint. A PhD is not only about earning a qualification; it is about developing the mindset, confidence, and capacity to create meaningful change.

My doctoral journey continues to inspire the work I do every day—to build better schools, empower educators, and create brighter futures for students.

Because ultimately, the true measure of education is not only what we learn but also the difference we make with what we have learned.

“My PhD journey transformed my experience into expertise, my vision into action, and my passion for education into a lifelong mission to shape the future of learning.”
