Healthcare Facility & Engineering Leader

Educational and career journey

My career journey began with a fundamental drive to build and improve systems. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, I immersed myself in the world of facilities management, starting in the hospitality sector and then moving into the high-stakes environment of healthcare. For over 16 years, I’ve dedicated myself to ensuring that hospitals – from 100-bed community facilities to large, 200+ bed tertiary care centers – operate safely, efficiently, and without interruption to patient care.

My path has been marked by a passion for solving complex problems in live environments. I’ve led multidisciplinary teams across the UAE, Qatar, and India, managing critical infrastructure projects worth over AED 250 million, all while ensuring full compliance with international standards like JCI, NFPA, and HTM. Throughout this journey, I’ve consistently sought to bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic leadership, driving cost savings, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing asset reliability to create more resilient healthcare environments.

This drive for strategic excellence led me to pursue formal business education. I first earned my MBA in International Business Management from Buckinghamshire New University, United Kingdom, which provided me with a strong foundation in global business practices and the strategic dimensions of facility and project management. Building on this momentum, I then joined Paris American International University (PAIU) to deepen my leadership capabilities further through a Doctorate in Business Administration.

PAIU's contribution to my personal or professional development.

The DBA program at PAIU was a transformative experience that elevated my strategic thinking to a new level. It provided me with the theoretical grounding and advanced analytical tools to approach healthcare management from a comprehensive systems perspective. My doctoral research, titled “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Sustainability in Healthcare Operations: A Systems Approach,” was the culmination of this journey. It allowed me to combine my deep technical expertise in facilities and engineering with cutting-edge business concepts. By exploring how AI can optimize resource consumption, improve preventative maintenance, and enhance overall operational efficiency, I developed a systems-thinking approach that is directly applicable to the challenges facing modern healthcare.

Today, as the Facility & Engineering Manager at Al Sharq Healthcare, Dibba, Al Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, I lead the facility and operations management services for our new 100 bed acute care hospital. I am actively implementing the principles from my research, using data and analytics to drive our sustainability initiatives and build a future-ready facility. My time at PAIU, combined with my MBA, has not only equipped me with advanced credentials but has fundamentally changed how I view my role—transitioning me from an engineering manager to a strategic leader capable of aligning technical operations with the overarching mission of healthcare.

I am proud to be part of the PAIU alumni network and look forward to connecting with fellow graduates.
