My name is Dr. Saju Koshy, and I am the Founder and Director of STALCO Engineering Pty Ltd, an Australian engineering and manufacturing company based in Melbourne. My professional journey spans telecommunications, engineering, advanced manufacturing, academic research, and entrepreneurship, reflecting a lifelong commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
Before establishing STALCO Engineering, I built my career as a Telecommunication Engineer and Solution Engineer, where I was responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering complex telecommunications and technology solutions. These roles developed my expertise in systems engineering, strategic planning, project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving, providing a solid foundation for my transition into engineering leadership and manufacturing.

A defining milestone in my professional journey was completing my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Paris American International University (PAIU). My doctoral dissertation, “A Systematic Study of Metal Laser Cutting: Optimizing Efficiency and Quality,” explored methods to enhance the efficiency, precision, and quality of laser cutting processes in modern manufacturing. As laser technology represents one of the most significant applications of photonics, my research integrated advanced manufacturing principles with strategic business management, demonstrating how innovation, process optimisation, and evidence-based leadership can improve industrial performance and operational excellence.
The knowledge and research capabilities I gained through PAIU strengthened my ability to bridge academic research with practical industry application. It reinforced the importance of analytical thinking, innovation, strategic leadership, and continuous improvement, principles that continue to guide my professional decisions and long-term vision.
Today, through STALCO Engineering, I have the privilege of leading a team that contributes to Australia’s engineering and manufacturing sector by delivering Structural Steel Engineering, Metal Engineering, CNC Laser Cutting, Precision Steel Processing, Custom Metal Fabrication, and Industrial Manufacturing Solutions. More importantly, my focus is on building an organisation founded on engineering excellence, innovation, integrity, and long-term value creation rather than simply delivering products and services.
Looking back, I recognise that every stage of my journey, from telecommunications engineering and solution design to doctoral research and business leadership, has been connected by one common principle: a commitment to learning and applying knowledge to solve real-world engineering challenges. My experience at PAIU demonstrated that research is most valuable when it creates practical outcomes, inspires innovation, and contributes positively to industry and society.
As an engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur, I believe that education is not merely the pursuit of academic achievement; it is the foundation for leadership, innovation, and meaningful impact. I hope my journey encourages others to embrace lifelong learning, pursue excellence with determination, and remain open to opportunities that challenge conventional thinking.
